Antimicrobial Filtration Media
Capture the bioaerosols, keep the filter clean. Nexture nanofiber media captures airborne bacteria, mold spores and droplet nuclei with high efficiency — and an integrated antimicrobial finish stops what's captured from colonizing the media, so the filter stays hygienic instead of becoming a source.
Overview
Overview
A loaded filter shouldn't become a microbial reservoir.
Every air filter captures biological particles — bacteria, fungal spores, pollen, droplet nuclei. In warm, humid conditions, a conventional filter that has collected this load can become a place where microbes settle and grow, generating odor, biofilm and a risk of re-aerosolization back into the airstream. The filter meant to protect indoor air quality can quietly start to undermine it.
Nexture antimicrobial media addresses this in two layers. First, an ultra-fine nanofiber structure captures bioaerosols with high efficiency through mechanical interception and diffusion — the same surface-loading performance that gives all our media a low, stable pressure drop. Second, an integrated antimicrobial finish inhibits the growth of microorganisms on the media itself, so the captured load doesn't colonize the filter, doesn't generate odor or biofilm, and the media stays hygienic across its service life.
The construction is built from non-fluorinated PP and PA6 and a non-fluorinated antimicrobial agent — so it is PFAS-free, in step with the EU's proposed PFAS restriction and with green-building material-health criteria. Antimicrobial activity on the media is characterized against recognized methods: ISO 22196 and ISO 20743 (antibacterial), and ISO 18184 (antiviral).

Antibacterial Media
Explore Antibacterial Media eastSurface activity that inhibits bacterial growth on the media, characterized to ISO 22196 / ISO 20743 — keeping captured bacteria from colonizing the filter and generating odor or biofilm in warm, humid HVAC environments.
-
Antiviral Media
Explore Antiviral Media eastMedia-surface antiviral activity characterized to ISO 18184, for hygiene-critical ventilation where the filter's own cleanliness matters.
-
Antifungal / Mold-Resistant Media
Explore Antifungal / Mold-Resistant Media eastBuilt to resist mold and fungal colonization in damp ducts, coils and humid climates — protecting both the media's integrity and the indoor air quality it's there to serve.
-
Anti-Biofilm & Odor Control
Explore Anti-Biofilm & Odor Control eastFor ventilation that runs in humid, loaded conditions. Inhibiting microbial growth on the media prevents the biofilm and musty odor that signal a filter turning into a source — keeping delivered air fresh.
-
HVAC Hygiene Grade
Explore HVAC Hygiene Grade eastFor air-handling units, coils and recirculating systems where collected biological load and condensation create a growth risk. Maintains filter hygiene between changeouts, protecting downstream coils and the conditioned space.
-
Healthcare & Food Hygiene Grade
Explore Healthcare & Food Hygiene Grade eastFor environments with the strictest hygiene expectations. Combines high bioaerosol capture with sustained media hygiene for healthcare ventilation, food and beverage production, and pharmaceutical support areas.
Nexture Benefits
-
Antimicrobial performance starts with capture. The fine nanofiber structure removes airborne bacteria, mold spores, pollen and droplet nuclei with high efficiency at a low, stable pressure drop — taking the biological load out of the airstream in the first place, through filtration physics rather than chemistry.
-
What a filter captures, it can become a home for. The integrated antimicrobial finish inhibits microbial growth on the media surface, so collected bacteria and fungi don't colonize the filter. The media stays hygienic across its service life instead of turning into the very source it was installed to remove.
-
A colonized filter produces musty odor, biofilm and the risk of shedding microorganisms back into the air. By stopping growth at the media, Nexture antimicrobial media keeps delivered air fresh and avoids re-aerosolization — protecting the indoor air quality the filter exists to safeguard.
-
Media that resists colonization stays cleaner longer, holding performance and hygiene between changeouts. That means more dependable indoor air quality, less odor-driven early replacement, and lower lifetime cost — without relying on more frequent maintenance.
-
Built from non-fluorinated PP and PA6 with a non-fluorinated antimicrobial agent, the media is PFAS-free — consistent with the EU's proposed PFAS restriction and with the material-health criteria of WELL, LEED and other green-building frameworks. Hygiene and material health, without a fluoropolymer trade-off.
-
Antimicrobial activity on the media is characterized against established methods — ISO 22196 and ISO 20743 for antibacterial activity, ISO 18184 for antiviral activity — giving specifiers a transparent, comparable basis for the media's performance rather than an unsupported marketing label.
